Flor de CanaOUR MUST

Flor de Cana 12 years old, Nicaragua

Since 1890, Flor de Cana, which translates as ‘’Flower of the Cane’’, produces superior quality rums. Located in Nicaragua, it is in part thanks to the know-how of the master blenders, the rigorous selection of the finest ingredients and its unique aging method that Flor de Cana built itself a solid reputation throughout the years. Indeed, Flor de Cana has earned many awards and international medals and is considered as one of the best rums in Latin America since 2000.

Flor de Cana has been the first rum producer to obtain the certification ISO 2009, the mark of a high quality production process.

THE LAB’S COCKTAIL SUGGESTION

Here is a light and fruity cherry-flavoured cocktail. The ‘’Straits Sling’’ is a long drink based on Citadelle French gin that can be delighted at any time. The classic Singapore Sling is a derived variation of this antique recipe.

Straits Sling

1 oz gin Citadelle
½ oz Cherry Marnier
1 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 oz simple syrup
2 spoons of maraschino juice
Topped with soda and D.O.M. Benedictine
1 cherry on a pick

To make this cocktail, pour all ingredients into a shaker. Cover with ice and shake energetically for 8 to 10 seconds. Pour the mix into a Collins glass and top with ginger beer. Decorate with a quarter lime and enjoy!!!



Bartender Bash Series

COMPETITIONS – Monthly Flair and Bar events from around the world.

One of the oldest Flair Bartending competitions around and a long time Flair tradition is at our door again! Starting down at the original location where it all started, Holiday Isle in the Florida Keys, the Bartenders Bash series, originally organized by Flair legend Bill Long, is hosted by Rob Husted and is a fun and entertaining event entirely based on "Freestyle Exhibition Flair". Competitors form all around will be accumulating points towards an overall score in a fight to be crowned Bash champion 2009.

The event is starting on May 10th for two days and keeps money prizes low in order to keep the stress level as low as possible and welcome seasoned pros as well as beginners.

The Bartenders bash series are restricted to bar Industry staff and are known to be one of the biggest industry parties of the year and has a lot of prestige and sentimental value to many.

Flair annuel de Sarasota en Floride Welcome to Sarasota, Florida’s annual one day Flair event!

Indeed, the Rockstar Flair bartending competition will be held this year on Monday, June 8th in the Voodoo Lounge courtyard of Gilligan’s Island and will be sponsored by Rockstar energy drinks, Malibu rum, Budweiser and Finest Call brand.
